Policies and Terms of Use of Atelier du Chef’s Online Shop

Please read our online shop’s Policies and Terms of Use before placing an order.  By ordering from our online shop, you agree to be bound by our purchasing conditions.

Pricing Policy

All online prices are in Canadian dollars and match in-store prices, unless otherwise specified.  Invoiced prices are prices that are in effect at time of ordering.  Prices are subject to change without notice.

Ordering from the Online Shop

Item information is provided to make it easier for you to select items before adding them to your cart.  You can review and make changes to your cart at any time.  Once you have completed your order, proceed to Checkout.

Should a product no longer be available, Atelier du Chef (ADC) will contact Customer as soon as possible in order to inform them and suggest an equivalent product.  Customer may also request a refund.

Atelier du Chef may, at its discretion, cancel an order or limit quantities ordered.  In such cases, Atelier du Chef shall inform Customer as soon as possible.

Should Customer wish to cancel a completed transaction, they must send an email to [email protected] as soon as possible.  If the order has not been shipped, Atelier du Chef shall make every effort to satisfy Customer.  If the order has already been shipped, Customer shall consult the Refund and Exchange Policy, below.  Special orders cannot be cancelled.

All orders shall be invoiced by email.

Atelier du Chef Account

Account must be open and valid at time of invoicing.  To open a business account, write to [email protected] and request an Account Application Form.  Complete the form and email it back to [email protected].  You will receive a notice of acceptance or refusal within three (3) business days.  Credit limit will also be specified. Terms of payment:  Net thirty (30) days.   

Credit Cards

Atelier du Chef retains no credit card information, but does retain transaction results.  All ordered products are invoiced whether they are in stock or not.  Ordered products that are in stock are shipped.  Back-ordered products shall be shipped as set out in Multiple Shipments, below.

Beanstream, a computer security specialist, manages online purchases for Atelier du Chef. Beanstream protects online shop transactions against possible fraud by using security tokens and other instruments for combatting fraud, making Atelier du Chef a PCI Level 1 certified online payment services provider.

Invoicing

Invoices for online orders are emailed to the email address provided at time of purchase. A copy of the order confirmation is enclosed with shipments. 

Taxes

Taxes are calculated at the rates stipulated in provincial and federal laws.  Taxes are charged based on the order delivery address.

Shipping and handling charges (are taxable, where applicable).  For further details, see Shipping and Handling Charges, below.

Under our Refund and Exchange Policy, taxes shall be reimbursed, except if they apply to shipping and handling charges for returned products.

Shipping Policy

Delivery Times 

Invoiced products ship within one (1) to five (5) business days.  Delivery date details on products that are out of stock at time of ordering shall be provided by email. 

Delivery

An order is shipped to the delivery address provided in the order.  An order cannot be delivered to more than one address.  If Consignee is absent at time of delivery, Carrier shall leave a non-delivery notice indicating collection details (a telephone number to call or an address where the package can be picked up).

Shipping and Handling Charges

Province of Quebec : Online orders over $99 before taxes and delivered by standard parcel delivery service are exempt from shipping and handling charges.  A $10 charge shall be applied to all orders under $99 and delivered by standard parcel delivery service.

Rest of Canada : Flat shipping rates shall be applied to all orders delivered by standard parcel delivery service.

Products delivered by means other than standard parcel delivery service shall be subject to shipping and handling charges from our warehouse.  Where appropriate, a delivery plan tailored to Customer’s needs will be proposed forthwith. 

Multiple Shipments

Shipping and handling will not be charged for orders of more than $99 requiring more than one delivery.  However, $10 will be charged when an order under $99 starts to ship.   For orders including at least one product to be delivered other than by standard parcel delivery service, shipping and handling charges will be charged from our warehouse.  By mutual agreement, there will be one single shipment.

International Shipping 

Atelier du Chef shall contact Customer directly to determine shipping arrangements for international orders. 

Risk of Loss of Package

Atelier du Chef shall assume the risk of product loss or breakage, from the time Atelier du Chef hands product(s) to Carrier until Customer confirms delivery.  Customer’s liability begins when Customer signs Carrier’s delivery slip.  Customer must therefore ensure that all merchandise ordered is intact before signing said delivery slip.  If any product seems damaged or missing, Customer shall indicate within 24H that on the delivery slip before signing it.  Customer shall subsequently contact Atelier du Chef to make arrangements for a credit note equal to the value of the broken product(s).  Atelier du Chef shall not be held liable if damage is not indicated on the signed delivery slip.

Where products are returned, Atelier du Chef shall only be liable for the package if the Refund and Exchange Policy instructions are followed.

Refund and Exchange Policy

Products purchased in our Deals section and special orders cannot be returned or exchanged, as they are final sales.

Refund and exchange requests must be sent by email to [email protected]

All form sections must be duly completed.  A duly completed form has three possible outcomes:

  1. Atelier du Chef assumes the error and approves the return at its expense.
  2. Atelier du Chef approves the return at Customer’s expense, as it is a Customer error.
  3. Atelier du Chef does not authorize the return, as it concerns a product as specified in the first paragraph of this section.

If a return is authorized, Atelier du Chef shall email labelling material.  Customer shall print all labels and affix them to the merchandise to be returned.  Upon receipt, Atelier du Chef shall proceed as outlined. Atelier du Chef shall not refund shipping and handling charges if its labelling material is not used.

Refunds are issued to the payment method used at time of ordering.

Merchandise to be exchanged may be returned at no cost if Atelier du Chef made the error and at Customer’s expense if Customer made the error.     

Returns made ten (10) days after the order receipt date will not be accepted.  Products purchased online may be returned online or in store, while products purchased in store may not be returned online. 

Changes to Our Online Shop’s Policies and Terms of Use

Atelier du Chef reserves the right to modify its online shop’s Polices and Terms of Use.  Product prices and availability may change without notice.  For these reasons, orders of mispriced or inaccurately described products and products with an incorrect unit of measurement may be cancelled.  Atelier du Chef undertakes, however, to provide the most accurate prices and descriptions possible and to correct them as soon as possible, where necessary.
